Learning Fun 101 is on a mission. We aim to bring STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) to more kids at an earlier age, and we want to make STEM irresistibly FUN, like it should be. And what better way to do that than to get kids hooked on robotics. Or building stuff, like real engineers do?
Since our founding in September 2008, Learning Fun 101 has taught more than 1,500 kids in the Austin metro area how to engineer, build, program and have fun with Science, through both our classes and summer camps. Through our LEGO Fungineering class, we’re introducing young students to the basics of structural engineering, simple machines and basic physics concepts. Through our LEGO Robotics classes and camps, we’ve taught scores of kids how to use build, program and dig deeper into technology.
Learning Fun 101 is a Texas LLC, based in Austin metro area. We’re insured and our instructors are trained with extensive background check. We’re a woman-owned local business. And though we love LEGO®s and use them to teach robotics, we are not affiliated with LEGO®.
Robotics is a system that teaches students how to build robots or smart machines using motors and sensors, and how to program them using an easy programming language, all in an environment of fun learning and excitement. By building those robots, the students will easily practice a set of subjects such as Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, as well as what is called “21st century skills”.
You may think of LEGO as the Duplos that you bought for your preschooler. These robotics tools are much more than meets the eye. While we use them in grades k-12th, the same components are used at the college level and for engineering and robotics classes as well. One of the many benefits of using the LEGO products is that you can get a complete robotic experience without having to use a welding shop and all the other requirements to create the components.
Learning fun 101’s program facilitates teamwork, critical thinking, problem solving, applying science principals, and mathematical solutions. Our program integrates reading, writing and presentation skills. In a nutshell, this program prepares students for the workforce of tomorrow.
Thank you so much for a wonderful experience! My son enjoyed the class at WB yesterday. The instructors were great and it was fun to see what he and the other children built. It was fascinating to watch these kids incorporate the use of a computer with their building skills.
