Programing, Engineering & Robotics

Pictures for website 4x3 - Page 003 Get ready to express your creative mind! Build new and creative designs! New and returning robot builders welcome. Learn mechanical design, construction, programming and teamwork skills. Using LEGO building elements, motors and sensors – students will build different robots and program them with a computer. Our class will engage both the beginner and the more advanced LEGO enthusiast. Get ready, get set and build!

Your child’s natural curiosity and ingenuity will help them envision possibilities and develop innovative solutions to difficult technology problems. Learning Fun 101 will challenge your student with authentic, hands-on explorations and then provide support as they engage in:

Questioning • Exploring • Imagining • Designing • Constructing • Inventing • Testing • Observing • Learning • Failing (and trying again)

No prior Lego experience is required. Students will be taught everything they need to know during our classes. Students will work in teams of two/three —friends are welcome to sign up together and can be partners.

LEGO® Engineering – WeDo Robots – grades K - 2nd

Students use the LEGO® Education WeDo™ Robotics Construction Set that introduces them to robotics, programming and the world of Amazing Mechanisms and Animals! Students will build models using pulleys, levers, wheels and axles to learn about forces and motion; then be LEGO Smart and invent your own machine to solve a real problem.

LEGO® Engineering – NXT Robots – grades 3rd & up

Students are challenged to build and program the LEGO Mindstorms NXT robot using the engineering process to build and program robot to complete various real world challenges. Student who have no prior programing experience will start off with Basic Programing. Returning students will continue with new and more advanced programing challenges.
