Competitive Teams

Summer Camps & Competitive TEams

Our program is for students in the Central Texas area. If you love problem solving, LEGO, Robotics, and great challenges, you’ll have a great time.

The EV3/FIRST LEGO League camp utilize the LEGO Mindstorms EV3 Robotics kit to provide an introduction to robotics and engineering. The FIRST LEGO League games are used as a challenge to provide a fun activity while the students are learning! We will use last years challenge.

Students will be provided a solid foundation in programming with the EV3 programming language. The class will largely be self-paced, with each group of students working as fast or as slow as needed to develop an understanding of the system.

Returning students will have the opportunity to work deeper and develop a stronger set of problem solving skills. The classes are sized and staffed to allow a high degree of individualized training and learning!

FIRST LEGO League

FLL introduces students to real-world engineering challenges by building LEGO-based robots to complete tasks on a thematic playing surface. FLL teams, guided by their imaginations and adult coaches, discover exciting career possibilities and, through the process, learn to make positive contributions to society.

Elementary and middle-school students (9-14 yrs old) get to:

  • Design, build and program robots using LEGO MINDSTORMS® technology
  • Apply real-world math and science concepts
  • Research challenges facing today’s scientists
  • Learn critical thinking, team-building and presentation skills
  • Participate in tournaments and celebrations

Please note that we also meet on additional days as we get closer to our competition and parent involvement is expected.
